OPEN TO ALL SWIMMERS - young, old, new, adaptive, and experienced.* (Note: Adaptive swimmers need to bring their own support)
The Wild Bill Swim and Paddle Challenge is held in honor and remembrance of Dr. William Yorzyk (1933-2020), a 1956 Olympic Gold Medalist in the Butterfly, native of MA, and a local community champion, a friend and mentor to many. Learn more about Bill.
Wild Bill Yorzyk first learned to swim at age 16! The event is raising money to
teach important basic swim and water safety skills to local community children. Drowning is still the leading cause of death in children under 14. However, it costs ~$200 per child for instructors, transportation, swim gear, et al to get it done.
Our 2024 fundraising goal is $50,000! Help us with this important mission.
OPEN WATER EVENTS:
Brookfield Beach, vicinity Sturbridge, MA,
141 Lake Road, Brookfield, Massachusetts 01506, United States

Water safety lessons for children are critical.
