The Wild Bill Swim and Paddle Challenge is held in honor and remembrance of Dr. William Yorzyk (1933-2020), a 1956 Olympic Gold Medalist in the Butterfly, native of MA, and a local community champion, a friend and mentor to many. Learn more about Bill.
Wild Bill Yorzyk first learned to swim at age 16! The event is raising money to
1) Teach important basic swim and water safety skills to 200 local community children
2) Keep local waters environmentally clean
Our 2023 fundraising goal is $50,000!

Swim & Paddle Challenges
Water safety lessons for children are critical.
Drowning is a leading cause of death for children under 14, and swim lessons reduce that risk by 88%. However it costs approx. $200 per child to conduct water safety lessons.
